In Gestational Surrogacy, there is NO genetic relationship between the baby and the Surrogate.
The baby’s genetics come from the intended parents or donors – you’re helping by carrying the pregnancy to birth.

I have just been on a journey like no other – from Switzerland to San Francisco, Sacramento, and back again, to bring home my newborn son. He was born by surrogacy arrangement, and made possible by the most incredible surrogate, with whom I will always share a special bond. All of this with thanks to the wonderful surrogacy agency, Physician‘s Surrogacy.
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to the amazing team at Physician’ Surrogacy. Their professionalism and support have been instrumental in this journey to expand my family.
Due to health challenges, including a kidney transplant, I faced many obstacles to create a family. I feel so blessed that surrogacy enabled me to bring my children into the world.
This journey has been nothing short of transformative. I am so grateful for the opportunity to welcome my little boy into the world, giving my daughter a little brother. Every day, my heart is touched by this amazing experience.
Physician’s Surrogacy was always my top choice and I highly recommend them for any parents considering surrogacy.
Thank you, Physician Surrogacy, for making my dream a reality! 💖👶 #SurrogacyJourney #Grateful #Family
I learned about Gestational Surrogacy about 9 years ago, before I had children of my own. I thought it was an amazing idea and an even more amazing gift to give to a growing family. Time passed and I forgot all about surrogacy. I gave birth to two beautiful boys of my own and knew that my family was complete. However, I enjoyed being pregnant and thought I was really good at it. I took really good care of my body and pregnancy/birth had became very important in my life.
A friend of mine mentioned egg donation to me and I thought that was a great idea. I looked into it and quickly learned I was just a little too old to donate my eggs. But this research led me to rediscover Gestational Surrogacy, which I was NOT too old for! I was ecstatic and immediately knew this is what I wanted to do. I talked to my husband and a few close friends about it while I was doing research into agencies. I found an agency that I liked and my husband and I decided this was a journey we wanted to take to help another family. I quickly matched with a couple and within a year and a half I had delivered their baby to them! There were a few bumps in the road along the way but in the end it was 100% worth it to gift that family their very own baby.
My first surro-baby is now 19 months old and I am currently 16 weeks pregnant with surro-baby #2! I switched agencies and I am so glad I did! I didn’t have anything against my first agency but Physicians Surrogacy has surpassed all my expectations! It took a little longer to get matched with a family than I thought it would but I think it was meant to be as the baby is due on my birthday! I am thoroughly impressed with their professionalism and support from all the staff across every department. They have made this second journey less stressful than my first journey and I can’t express how much I appreciate them. I don’t know at this point if I will do a third journey but if I can/want to I will definitely be returning to Physicians Surrogacy! They are amazing!
Just completed my first journey with Physician’s Surrogacy and this has been the most amazing experience for myself and my husband. Physician’s Surrogacy made this process so smooth and enjoyable. I was always being checked on and felt like I could ask any questions or voice any concerns.Ileska and Ivory were my case managers and they were absolutely amazing, and extremely supportive.
I highly recommend anyone to the agency especially if it is your first journey.
Thank you Physician’s Surrogacy for helping me through this amazing experience!!”
“I’m 23 years old, and have a family of my own, so I know the excitement of being a parent. I think every couple who wants a family deserves it. If I could help them accomplish that, it’d be a great experience for everybody involved. I’m very family oriented and couldn’t imagine not being able to produce a child.
This experience gives individuals that are unable to carry a child the opportunity to experience parenthood. The compensation is also a plus. It will help secure a future for my family
“I don’t plan on having another child of my own. My body is perfectly capable of carrying a child, so I decided it would be the perfect choice to become a surrogate. Pregnancy is an amazing experience from start to finish. Not being able to bare their own children isn’t something that women ask for. I feel for those who want it so badly but can’t do it on their own. I understand what it means to be a Surrogate.
I understand the child is not “mine” even though it will be in my body. My ultimate goal in this is to bless a family the way I was blessed with my angel baby
The first time I ever heard of the term “surrogate” was a few years ago. At the time I had no idea what it really was. It was not until I had a close personal experience with my older sister wanting another child but not knowing if she herself was able to carry the pregnancy. She asked if I would ever consider carrying a child for her.
The hope and the little bit of faith it gives a woman with a chance to have a child was so beautiful.
The term and idea lingered since then. It was a subject that came up over and over, and peaked my interest to do more reading and research on it. The deeper I looked, it felt right, like it was a calling for me to help bless someone and make their dreams come true
“In my quest to fulfill my dream of helping a family though surrogacy I researched several agencies in the California area. I found so many great reviews on Physician’s Surrogacy. I called and the staff was quick to answer all my questions. They certainly helped put my mind at ease and was the first agency (I called several) that I spoke with where I finally sensed “this is where I belong.” I immediately felt like they had my best interest in mind and walked me through every step of the matching process. No question of mine was ever too big or too small. Within just a couple of months of my profile being listed I had a conference call with a potential set of Intended Parents. A short time later, it was a match! It just took one phone call and I knew that all my wishes in what I was looking for in a set of Intended Parents had been listened to and met. Not long after, I had to travel for my initial medical clearance. They made all my travel arrangements and were in constant contact with me.Not quite a year after my matching process and I am quickly approaching the delivery date of my first surrogate baby.
The entire staff has helped make this the most positive and joyful experience I could’ve ever imagined. If I ever needed anything, my coordinator was quick to get on it and be sure it was taken care of.
I have gotten phone calls and texts from the staff congratulating me on important milestones (heartbeat confirmation, 20 week ultrasound, first, second and third trimester, etc.) Physician’s Surrogacy has always made me feel like family, I couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience
I had thought long and hard for many years about surrogacy but often wondered if I were brave enough. I finally said to myself why not? Life is too short… there are many couples out there who wish to start a family and why not be the one to help them do so as a Surrogate you want to share the wonderful experience of pregnancy and birth to those who simply cannot for themselves. One day I asked my seven year old daughter what she would think of me if I carried another child in my belly for a mommy and daddy who cannot. She simply replied, “That would be nice of you mommy.”
The only words that mattered, motivated me even more
Having the support from friends and family; the ones who mean the most to you, made me feel so much more stronger and prouder of myself. The journey was incredibly wonderful to have all the support I needed, especially from my Surrogate support person and team at physicians surrogacy! What made it even more special was hearing from the intended parents throughout my journey-knowing how much I “was truly appreciated and how happy they were, made me feel so honored and blessed! In the end, my journey was simply about giving life

What You Need to Know About Surrogacy
The surrogate’s name will not appear on the birth certificate. We handle the legal filings to establish the Intended Parents as the legal parents, so only their names are listed on the official document.
Yes. We believe single mothers are just as capable and caring as married surrogates. We simply ask that you have a reliable support system of family or friends in place before you commit to the journey.
Absolutely. You don’t need your own insurance to apply as a surrogate here at Physician’s Surrogacy. The Intended Parents will purchase a surrogacy-specific medical policy for you that covers the pregnancy. Our team handles all the medical bills, so you’ll never be responsible for those costs.
Laws vary by location. We work with surrogates in most US states (currently 43 states) that have friendly laws. The fastest way to know is to submit a short application since it instantly verifies if your state qualifies for our program.
A gestational surrogate is a woman who carries a baby for parents who cannot do so themselves. Because the embryo is created via IVF using the parents’ or donors’ genetics, the surrogate has no biological link to the child.
Surrogacy is a medical journey, so we believe you deserve medical leadership. While many agencies are run by former surrogates, we’re the only agency managed by Obstetricians, as well as the only one that offers a Medically Cleared Fast Track program, which streamlines the process for both surrogates and intended parents. Lastly, we offer the industry’s highest compensation for first-time surrogates with a transparent, fixed-rate package.
No. We exclusively practice gestational surrogacy, meaning your eggs are never used. The embryo is created using the genetics of the Intended Parents or donors, so you share no DNA with the baby.
Usually, long-distance travel is only required for your main medical screening and embryo transfer at the IVF clinic. After the first trimester, you’re released to a local OB near home for the rest of the pregnancy. The exact clinic location depends on where your intended parents store their embryos. We handle all logistics to make these few trips easy for you
Any required travel related to your surrogacy—such as screening trips, embryo transfer, or long-distance OB visits—is paid for by the intended parents, not you. This includes approved flights, hotels, meals, and mileage as outlined in your contract. Details are reviewed in your surrogate compensation package.
We have a safety net in place before delivery. Our legal team establishes a Power of Attorney that designates a professional Newborn Care Nanny to take temporary guardianship. This guarantees the baby is safe and cared for until the parents arrive, so you are never responsible for the baby after birth.
The process typically begins with preliminary blood work near your home, though you can choose to opt into our Medically Cleared program to complete comprehensive testing upfront and match faster. Once you are cleared, you will follow a personalized medication calendar to prepare your body for the embryo transfer, which is a simple 10-minute procedure where the embryo is placed directly into the uterus.
Your main job is to maintain a healthy lifestyle and attend all prenatal appointments. We also ask for consistent communication so we can coordinate your care and support you effectively. Think of it as a partnership: you protect the pregnancy, and we handle the logistics.
Yes. Because they are part of your support system, any adult in your household must pass a background check. Your partner will also need to sign consent forms and complete a simple blood and urine screening to confirm everyone is healthy and on board.
Every journey is unique. Some relationships are strictly professional, while others become like extended family. We align your expectations with the parents’ right from the start so there are no surprises. Often, the relationship grows naturally as the pregnancy progresses. Contact us to discuss what level of contact feels right for you.
Yes, as long as your doctor accepts the pregnancy insurance policy. You and the Intended Parents will agree on the provider together. Many surrogates love using the same doctor who delivered their own children because they already feel comfortable with them.
Absolutely! Tubal ligation is actually a plus because it prevents accidental pregnancy. Since we use IVF, the embryo is placed directly into your uterus, meaning your fallopian tubes are not involved in the process at all.
Surrogacy carries the same standard risks as any pregnancy, such as high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, or delivery complications. There are no additional risks specific to being a surrogate. We review your history thoroughly to confirm you are a healthy candidate before you begin, but you might also want to talk with your own doctor about personal risk factors before applying.
Our current BMI guideline is 32 or below to protect your health and the baby’s. If you are close to this number, we are happy to support your weight-loss goals. Maintaining a healthy weight helps prevent complications like gestational diabetes during the journey.
You start with the IVF clinic for monitoring. After the first trimester (around 10–12 weeks), you “graduate” to your local obstetrician for the rest of the pregnancy. We can help you find a great doctor nearby if you don’t already have one, so you deliver close to home.
Yes. To prepare your body for the embryo transfer, you will take hormone injections. Our medical team provides a clear calendar with dates and dosages so you stay on track. These usually continue through the first trimester until the placenta takes over.
We know lost wages for employed surrogates are a real concern. Your compensation package includes a dedicated stipend for lost wages, paid at the start of the journey. You choose how to use those funds. You may still file for state programs like EDD, and any benefits you receive there stay separate from your stipend.
Many women ask, does surrogacy cost me anything? The answer is no. The Intended Parents cover 100% of the journey, including medical bills, travel, and legal fees. Your compensation is yours to keep, and you will never be asked to pay out-of-pocket for agency-required appointments.
Payments are kept safe in a secure trust account managed by an experienced third-party escrow company. They handle all the details, releasing the compensation and benefits on a set schedule. This means surrogates never have to ask the intended parents for money directly – everything’s automatic and secure.
We love referrals! If you know someone who would make a great surrogate, put us in touch. Once she is medically cleared or matched, you earn a cash bonus of $1500. Ask your coordinator for the specific referral reward details to start earning today.
We use a flat-rate package, meaning you get a fixed amount without the headache of saving receipts for every little thing. Many expenses—like childcare, travel, and maternity clothing—are bundled into a simple package, so you submit fewer receipts and know exactly what you’ll earn. You also start receiving payments earlier—often earning significant benefits ($4,000–$5,000) before pregnancy is even confirmed.
To be considered “employed” for our benefits package, you need a gross annual income of at least $15,000. We verify this using your recent pay stubs or tax returns. Meeting this threshold qualifies you for specific lost wage benefits.
You can earn between $48,000 and $95,000 depending on your experience and location. We provide a complete, fixed-rate breakdown of our surrogate compensation before you sign anything, so you know exactly what your financial total will be. There are no hidden terms or guessing games.

A physician stepped in and did a peer-to-peer with her managing OB and they both decided on the proper protocol in order to ensure a safe journey and delivery. Our surrogate was put on bed rest and she had our full support along with her surrogate support manager, case manager and the entire Physician’s Surrogacy team! Without our agency being Ob-Managed, I don’t know what our outcome would have been! I am so happy our surrogate was healthy and safe and so was our baby boy!
My surrogate was medically cleared and completely healthy when we started our journey, but during a routine check-up, her OB noticed she had an elevated AFP level during the second trimester. Naturally, we all got really scared andimagined the worst-case scenario. Luckily, a physician from Physician’s Surrogacy was able to coordinate a meeting with a Perinatologist, GYN Oncologist and the OB to devise a plan to ensure that both the surrogate and baby were safe. I am happy to say our surrogate’s amino fluid tested normal and we have a healthy baby!
Our surrogate was originally going to visit her previous OB who had delivered her children. However, due to the distance from where she lived to the hospital, she needed to see a doctor at a closer location. Through their vast network, Physician’s Surrogacy was able to find a practicing OB closer to the hospital and ensured that they had the capacity to handle a high-risk case. They also made sure that the hospital had the proper level NICU. It was all worked out so quickly and our surrogate was able to be seen by the new OB the same week!
