Our
Advantage

Physician’s Surrogacy is a surrogacy program run by physicians, inside our own medical center. The doctors who clear your surrogate are the doctors who read her records with your IVF center, follow her pregnancy and answer your questions. That is the advantage, and this page shows you what it means at every stage.

Meet our physicians

Practicing OB/GYNs and specialists, working together inside our own medical center in San Diego.

Dr. Kim Hui

OB/GYN

Dr. Karen Kohatsu

OB/GYN

Dr. Brano Cizmar

OB/GYN

Dr. Wade Schwenemann

Maternal Fetal Medicine

Dr. Mandhir Suri

Neonatology

Our OB/GYNs run the clearance and follow the pregnancy. A maternal fetal medicine specialist and a neonatologist sit on the team for the questions that need them, so a concern about your surrogate or your baby is answered inside the same walls, on the same day.

What our physicians do at every stage?

01

Before the match

Our in-house OB/GYNs and reproductive endocrinologists take every surrogate through her clearance before her profile reaches you: her medical history and her previous pregnancy and delivery records, a physical examination with uterine imaging, the infectious disease panel and a background check, with the psychological evaluation by independent licensed clinicians. The profile you see is a surrogate who has passed all of it.

02

Match to transfer

Our physicians send her complete records and imaging to your IVF center and hold a physician-to-physician consultation with your reproductive endocrinologist, so every question is answered before the cycle starts. Your center prepares her and runs the transfer on its own protocol.

03

Pregnancy to birth

You receive an update after every appointment. Our OB/GYNs follow the first trimester with her own doctor, consult with that doctor the same day a test or a symptom flags a concern, and stay on call to the delivery.
